Why the Continuous hot press line is more suitable for Bigger production capacity compare with the Multi-layers hot press? Because it can keep works in 24 hours and uninterruptted. So it is Higher efficiency, and the Formed panel continuous enter into the continuous press line, so it can keep the wood based panel density more uniform and Better quality. Therefore now many big OSB plant /MDF factory /Particleboard factory who has high requirements for the panel quality all choose the Continuous press.
Today the Continuous press we introduced for making Oriented strand board (OSB), which per day can be 350m3, and per year 100,000m3 capacity based on thickness 16mm. The whole continuous press length is 26 meters, with high level materials and spare parts.
One Set Continuous Press mainly consist of steel belt, press body, Heating system, Electric system etc

√ Steel Belt System:
● Heat-resistant alloy steel strip (with a thickness of approximately 2.5 to 3mm) : It supports the slab and transmits pressure, and must have the ability to resist high-temperature deformation.
● Steel belt tensioning device: Hydraulic or mechanical adjustment to maintain a constant tension of the steel belt (usually 20 to 30kN/m).
● Steel belt deviation correction system: Real-time monitoring by laser or hydraulic sensors to prevent deviation (accuracy ±1mm).
● Steel belt cooling/cleaning device: Cool down after pressing and remove residual rubber particles
√ Press Body:
● Segmented pressure plate: Composed of multiple independent pressure zones (usually 10 to 20 zones), each zone separately controls temperature (200 to 250℃) and pressure (up to 5MPa).
● Hydraulic system: The servo hydraulic cylinder achieves precise pressure regulation (accuracy ±0.1MPa).
● Heat medium system: Heat transfer oil or steam circulation heating pressure plate (thermal efficiency > 85%)
√ Heating & Temperature Control System:
● Zonal heating: The surface and core layers can be independently temperature-controlled (the surface layer is usually 10 to 20 degrees Celsius higher than the core layer).
● Temperature sensor network: Real-time feedback from thermocouples, PID closed-loop control.
● Thermal energy recovery device: The waste heat from the exhaust gas is used for drying wood shavings
√ Thickness Control System:
● Laser thickness gauge: Online monitoring of slab thickness (accuracy ±0.05mm).
● Hydraulic feedback regulation: Dynamic adjustment through the spacing of the pressure plates (response time < 1 second)
√ Inlet /Outlet System:
● Slab acceleration section: Match the laying speed with the press speed (synchronization error < 0.5%).
● Plate discharge buffer section: Prevents deformation caused by sudden stress release of the hot plate
√ Safty & Auxiliary System:
● Emergency braking device: Automatically shut down when the steel belt breaks or there is a material blockage (response time < 0.5 seconds).
● Lubrication system: Automatically lubricate the chain and bearings (high-temperature grease).
● Dust removal system: Deals with volatile substances during the pressing process
