Oriented Strand Board
Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is an engineered wood product made by cross-orienting layers of wood strands bonded under heat and pressure. Its crisscross structure delivers exceptional mechanical strength, positioning it as a modern alternative to plywood.
Structural Features
High Strength: Cross-oriented layers ensure balanced bending/compression resistance
Moisture Resistance: EN 300 OSB/3 Grade (for humid conditions)
Eco-Friendly: Zero formaldehyde added (MDI binder)
Sizes: 18/20/22mm thickness, 2440×1220mm (customizable)
Production Process
1.Log Processing: Debarked poplar/pine logs cut into fixed lengths and washed
2.Stranding: Logs flaked into 120mm×25mm×0.6mm strands with ≤8% moisture content
3.Drying & Screening:
Triple-pass rotary dryer (180-200℃) reduces moisture to 2-4%
Vibrating screens remove undersized particles
4.Blending & Orienting:
PMDI resin application (2.8-3.2% dosage)
Surface strands longitudinally oriented, core layers cross-oriented (3-layer structure)
5.Pre-pressing: Cold-pressed at 1.5MPa to form continuous mat
6.Hot Pressing:
Continuous Press Line (CPL) at 200-220℃/100-120bar
Line speed: 600mm/s, resin curing within 45 seconds
7.Finishing:
Precision cutting (±0.5mm tolerance)
Sanding (surface smoothness ≤0.1mm)
EN 300 grade stamping
8.QC & Packaging:
Batch testing: MOR (≥22N/mm²), MOE (≥3500N/mm²)
Boil test (2h thickness swell ≤15%)
