Product Overview


This production line is a world-leading ultra-thin density fiberboard machinery system, specifically engineered to overcome the industrial-scale and continuous production challenges of extremely thin MDF ranging from 1.5mm to 3mm. It represents cutting-edge technology in the fiberboard manufacturing sector, capable of consistently producing ultra-thin boards with flatness and uniformity rivaling plywood, offering a revolutionary substrate solution to the market.



Production process  


The production of ultra-thin MDF is a precise and continuous process, whose core lies in the extreme control of fiber treatment, forming, and hot pressing to ensure product performance at millimeter-level thicknesses. The main process is as follows:

1.  Raw Material Preparation and Fiber Treatment: Wood chips are refined into fine fibers using a defibrator (thermomechanical pulping). These fibers are then precisely blended with eco-friendly resins (e.g., E0-grade adhesives) and additives and dried in a pipeline dryer.

2.  High-Precision Mat Forming: The dried fibers are distributed by the precise forming head of a high-precision thin MDF production line to form a uniform, fluffy mat on a moving steel belt. This stage demands exceptionally high uniformity in fiber distribution and is the foundation for determining the final product's thickness consistency and surface quality.

3.  Pre-pressing and Mat Conveying: The fluffy mat is initially compacted by a belt pre-press to form a "green mat" with sufficient strength for stable entry into the continuous press.

4.  Core Hot Pressing and Curing: The mat enters the heart of the continuous press MDF production line – the continuous flat press. Under precisely controlled temperature, pressure, and time, the mat is continuously pressed to the predetermined thickness (1.5-3mm) while the resin rapidly cures. Continuous press technology is the key to stable production and superior physical properties of ultra-thin boards.

5.  Post-Press Processing: The continuous pressed board strip undergoes cooling and conditioning to balance internal stresses. It is then precisely cut to length and trimmed to order specifications by a high-speed sawing system.

6.  Quality Inspection and Packaging: Finished boards undergo automatic thickness monitoring, strength sampling tests, and visual grading to ensure every panel meets standards, followed by automatic stacking and packaging.

A complete ultra-thin density fiberboard machinery production line consists of a series of highly synchronized specialized equipment,mainly include:

  Raw Material Handling System: Chipper, screening station, storage silos, and conveying equipment.

  Fiber Preparation System: Defibrator (refiner), blender for resin application, pipeline dryer, and its furnace.

  Forming and Mat Forming System: High-precision mechanical or air-felter forming machine, one of the signature pieces of equipment in a high-precision thin MDF production line.

  Pre-press: Belt pre-press for initial mat shaping.

  Core Hot Pressing System: The heart of the continuous press MDF production line – the continuous flat press , equipped with precise hydraulic, heating, and thickness control systems.

  Finishing Line: Cooler and turnover device, trim saw / multi-rip cross-cut saw, sander (for ultra-thin boards, sanding is minimal or unnecessary), stacking, and packaging systems.

  Central Control System: Integrated PLC/DCS automation control system that monitors and optimizes the entire process, ensuring the flexibility and stability of a customized thickness MDF production line.

  High-End Furniture Manufacturing: Used for drawer bottoms, cabinet back panels, lightweight door cores, curved furniture components, as well as decorative moldings and trims. Its smooth surface serves as an ideal substrate for veneering.

  Construction and Interior Decoration: Applied in wall and ceiling paneling, door skins, partitions for commercial display cabinets, and lightweight modular building components.

  Crafts and Creative Industries: Serves as an ideal substrate for photo frames, jewelry boxes, models, toys, artist boards, and various DIY crafts. It is well-suited for laser engraving, CNC routing, painting, and laminating.

  Electronics and Packaging: Used as internal acoustic/partition boards, cushioning liners in electronic products like speakers, televisions, and computers, as well as for liners and structural parts in high-end gift boxes and luxury packaging.

  Laminate Flooring and Door Industry: Acts as the balancing backer board for laminate flooring and the flat core for composite door leaves, effectively preventing warping and reducing overall weight.

  Transportation Interior: Can be used for interior panels, locker partitions in RVs and high-end buses, meeting lightweight requirements.


Product Advantages 


  Excellent Physical Properties: The product boasts uniform density (typically 700-850 kg/m³), high internal bond strength, and thickness tolerance controlled within ±0.15mm. It offers good machinability (sawing, milling, laminating) and dimensional stability.

  Perfect Surface Quality: Both sides are exceptionally smooth and flat, ready for direct lamination, printing, or painting without additional sanding, making it an ideal substrate for high-end surface finishing.

  Lightweight and Eco-friendly: Compared to traditional boards of the same area, ultra-thin MDF is significantly lighter, facilitating transportation and processing. The production line can utilize E0 or ultra-low formaldehyde emission resins.
