Ⅲ.MDF Production Process
Stage 1: Raw Material Prep
Debarking → Drum chipping (20×25×5mm flakes) → 3-stage washing (removes grit/resin)
Stage 2: Fiberizing
Pre-steaming (0.6MPa saturated steam) → Twin-disc refining (0.1mm gap, 170℃) → Fiber drying (inlet 180℃, outlet 8% MC)
Stage 3: Forming & Pressing
Air-felt forming (density gradient) → Continuous press (42m long, 185-210℃, 350kN/m) → Moisture control (12±0.5%)
Stage 4: Finishing
24h conditioning (22±2℃, 55% RH) → Double-side sanding (P60→P180) → Ultrasonic flaw detection
Ⅳ.Equipment configuration
1. Drum Chipping System
Working Principle: Logs fed hydraulically into rotating drum where flying knives (35m/s) shear wood against bed knives to produce dimensional flakes.
Key Components:
Multi-stage screen: Separates target flakes (20-30mm) from oversize
Metal detector: Magnetic removal of ferrous contaminants
Counter-flow wash tank: 3-stage rinsing for sand/resin removal
2. Thermo-Mechanical Refining System
Working Principle: Steam-softened chips (0.6-0.8MPa) are fiberized between rotating discs (1500rpm) with intermeshing refiner bars.
Key Components:
Screw feeder: Creates plug seal to prevent steam leakage
Dual-disc refining zone: Adjustable gap (0.05-0.3mm) controls fiber quality
Blow valve: Steam explosion disperses fiber bundles
3. Fiber Drying System
Working Principle: Wet fibers suspended in hot air stream (inlet 180-220℃) undergo convective drying during pneumatic transport.
