The Extra-Thick OSB Production Line (Thickness 25-40mm) is a cutting-edge industrial equipment system specifically designed for manufacturing ultra-thick, ultra-high load-bearing Oriented Strand Board (OSB). This line breaks through the conventional thickness limits of OSB production. Through innovative mat design, specially engineered extra-long continuous hot presses, and precise process control, it can stably and efficiently produce extra-thick OSB panels with thicknesses ranging from 25mm to 40mm.

 Product Process

1.  Raw Material Preparation & Grading: Logs are processed into strands and strictly screened. For extra-thick boards, specific coarse strands may be used in the core layer to enhance internal structural strength and reduce cost.

2.  Drying & Blending: Strands are dried to precise moisture content. High-performance waterproof resins (e.g., MDI) are uniformly applied via high-precision blenders to ensure complete core layer curing in thick boards.

3.  Extra-Thick Mat Forming:

      Critical Step: Employs special "stepped" or "high-increment" forming technology. The former lays down the mat with an extremely high unit area weight, creating a fluffy yet uniform ultra-thick mat.

      Structural Design: Optimizes the ratio and orientation angle of surface/core strands to balance stress through the thickness, preventing delamination and optimizing mechanical properties.

4.  Pre-pressing & Conveying: The extra-thick mat undergoes significant compression in a heavy-duty pre-press to increase initial density and strength for stable entry into the continuous press.

5.  Extended-Cycle Continuous Hot Pressing:

      Core Process: The mat enters a specially engineered extended-length continuous press with a longer hot-pressing zone to ensure sufficient heat transfer to the core of the thick board.

      Special Technology: Utilizes a "stepped" or "gradual-decline" pressure and temperature profile. Initial high pressure quickly densifies the mat, while parameters are adjusted mid-to-late stage to ensure complete core resin curing without excessive steam pressure, preventing "blowing" or delamination.

6.  Reinforced Finishing:

      Slow Cooling: Pressed extra-thick boards must enter a reinforced slow-cooling system (e.g., extended star cooler) to reduce core temperature gradually and uniformly, releasing internal stress and preventing warpage.

      Extended Conditioning: Stacked boards require a longer conditioning period (typically >72 hours) for complete internal resin reaction and final property stabilization.

      Heavy-Duty Sanding: A multi-head, high-power heavy-duty sanding line is used for calibrating sanding to remove pre-cured layers and ensure thickness tolerance and surface flatness.

7.  Trimming & Packaging: Sanded extra-thick boards are precisely trimmed, inspected, and packaged. Packaging requires reinforcement to handle their substantial weight.

Forming Machine PB OSB MDF Production Line

1. High-Capacity Material Handling & Forming System:

  Large-Capacity Silos & Feeding System: Equipped with oversized strand buffer silos and high-precision, high-flow weigh feeders to meet the extreme unit area material demand of extra-thick mats, ensuring forming continuity.

  Dedicated Extra-Thick Mat Former:

      Features widened and lengthened forming heads, potentially with multi-layer or dynamic flow control technology, ensuring extremely uniform density profile across the ultra-thick mat—the cornerstone of thick board quality stability.

      Mat weighing and scanning systems feature higher resolution and accuracy.

2. The Core: Extended-Length Heavy-Duty Continuous Press:

  Reinforced Structure: The heart of the line. The press is significantly longer (potentially 30%-50% or more than a standard line) to provide sufficient pressing time ("dwell time") for the thick board core to reach curing temperature and complete reaction.

  Precise Multi-Zone Control: Features more numerous and finer pressure and temperature control zones. Capable of executing complex pressure-temperature-time profiles, automatically optimizing the process for different thicknesses and effectively managing steam generation and escape within the mat to eliminate core defects.

  Large Opening & Powerful Drive: The initial press opening is larger to accommodate the fluffy extra-thick mat. The main hydraulic system delivers higher, more stable total pressure to ensure the mat is fully compacted throughout.

  High-Strength Belts & Drive: Utilizes higher-grade alloy steel belts and more powerful drive systems to withstand increased friction and load from pressing extra-thick boards.

3. Reinforced Finishing System:

  Customized Star Cooler/Flipper: Dramatically enhanced in length and cooling capacity. Employs VFD-controlled high-power fans with adjustable air speed and cooling rates for gentle, gradual cooling of extra-thick boards.

  Ultra-Heavy-Duty Sanding Line:

      Configured with 8 or more sanding heads, using different grit combinations from coarse calibration to fine finishing.

      The sander frame has extremely high rigidity, main motors are very powerful, and sanding belts are wider and more durable to handle the significant sanding resistance of high-density extra-thick OSB.

      Equipped with high-precision thickness gauging and feedback systems.

  Heavy-Duty Board Handling Equipment: All conveyor rolls, lift tables, and stackers are reinforced for increased load capacity and durability to safely handle extremely heavy individual boards and stacks.


4. Advanced Process Control System:

  Proprietary Process Software: The control system includes pre-set and continuously optimized proprietary pressing recipes for different thicknesses (e.g., 25mm, 30mm, 40mm).

  Advanced Monitoring & Diagnostics: Integrates more temperature sensors (including simulated in-mat monitoring), pressure sensors, and online density scanners for real-time monitoring of the entire thick board production process, featuring advanced alarm and diagnostic functions.

      Beams & Lintels: Used directly as floor joists, roof beams, or door/window lintels, especially for long-span or high-load points in wood-frame construction.

      Load-Bearing Wall & Shear Wall Sheathing: Serves as sheathing for load-bearing walls in multi-story wood structures, providing fortissimo in-plane shear strength and racking resistance.

      Container House Flooring & Structural Panels: Used in specialty container buildings requiring extremely high floor load capacity and overall rigidity.
