Working Principle
The core of the continuous flat hot press is to continuously press the slab through high temperature and high pressure. Its working process is as follows:
1.Feeding: The slab after paving and forming is sent to the entrance of the hot press through a conveyor belt.
2.Preheating and pre-pressing: Before the slab enters the main pressing area, the adhesive is softened by a preheating device and the air is expelled by pre-pressing.
3.Main pressing: The slab enters the pressing area composed of multiple layers of hot pressing plates, and is continuously pressed under high temperature (usually 180-250℃) and high pressure (2-5 MPa) to solidify the adhesive and tightly combine the fibers.
4.Cooling and board discharge: The pressed board is cooled and shaped in the cooling section, and then cut into standard sizes.
Main components
1. Frame: An extremely strong steel structure frame used to withstand huge pressing forces (up to tens of thousands of tons). It usually adopts a box beam or prestressed tie rod structure.

2. Upper platen/upper frame: A movable upper structure connected to a hydraulic cylinder (or mechanical lever) that provides the main pressing force. In the steel belt design, the upper steel belt and its support system are installed on the upper frame.
3. Lower platen/lower frame: A fixed lower structure. In the steel belt design, the lower steel belt and its support system are installed on the lower frame.
4. Hot press plate/heating system:
Hot press plate type: A huge steel plate (usually made of special alloy steel) with flow channels (drilled holes or milled grooves) inside. High-temperature heat medium (mainly hot oil, a few use steam) circulates in the flow channel to evenly heat the surface of the press plate. The press plate is in direct contact with the slab.
Steel belt type (mainstream): Two highly polished, high-strength, high-temperature resistant thin annular steel belts (thickness of about 1.5-2mm) are used. The steel belt runs in the press, and its outer surface contacts the slab. There is a hot press plate inside the steel belt, which is close to the inner surface of the steel belt and transfers heat to the slab through the steel belt. The role of the steel belt is to protect the expensive hot press plate from wear and contamination and ensure that the surface of the plate is extremely smooth.

5. Steel belt drive and support system (steel belt type)
Drive rollers: Large diameter rollers located at both ends of the press drive the steel belt to run continuously. They require extremely high manufacturing precision and rigidity.
Support rollers/support pads: Dense support rollers or low-friction support pads are arranged on the inner side of the steel belt (close to the hot press plate) to prevent the steel belt from deforming or wrinkling under high pressure. The support system requires precise lubrication and cooling.
Tensioning device: Keep the steel belt with proper tension to prevent deviation and slipping.
Deviation correction device: Real-time monitoring and adjustment of the steel belt position to prevent deviation (this is one of the key technologies for the stable operation of the continuous flat press).
Steel belt cleaning and cooling system: Removes residues (fibers, resins, etc.) on the surface of the steel belt and cools it after it leaves the press.

6. Hydraulic system: Provides huge pressing force. The core is a large number (tens to hundreds) of hydraulic cylinders, usually arranged in zones (along the width and length of the press). The pressure of each zone (or each group) can be independently and accurately controlled, which is the key to achieve precise thickness control and uniform density distribution.

7. Heating system: including hot oil boiler (or steam boiler), circulation pump, pipeline, valve and control system. Ensure that the temperature of the heat medium is stable, uniform and adjustable (usually within the range of 180-230°C, depending on the resin and product requirements).

8. Lubrication system: Provide necessary lubrication for the steel belt support system (rollers or pads) to reduce friction and wear.
