Bamboo Raw Material Characteristics
Bamboo differs significantly from wood in its anatomical structure:

Bamboo Strand Flaker processes the split bamboo strips into uniform bamboo chips or flakes. The machine contains a high-speed rotating knife roller fitted with multiple replaceable flying knives, which cut the bamboo strips into chips of specified thickness and length through a cutting action. The flaker is equipped with a screening mechanism to control chip dimensions, returning oversized chips for re-cutting while separating and discharging excessive fines.
Vibrating Screen follows the flaker and is used for size classification of bamboo chips. This equipment uses multi-layer screens with different aperture sizes to sort bamboo chips into several size fractions under vibration, while simultaneously removing dust and fine particles that have mixed in, ensuring that the chips entering the next stage are uniform in size.
Bamboo-Specific Refiner is one of the most core pieces of equipment on the entire production line. This machine consists of a pair of counter-rotating high-speed refining plates, with high-strength wear-resistant alloy refining plates mounted on their surfaces. The pre-softened bamboo chips are subjected to intense compression, shearing, and grinding forces between the refining plates, being defibrated into elongated bamboo fibers. The tooth angles and plate gaps of this refiner are specially designed to match bamboo's high hardness and high silica content, maximizing fiber length and integrity preservation while ensuring effective defibration.
High-Precision Glue Application System consists of metering pumps, flow meters, mixers, and glue spray nozzles. This system continuously delivers specialized bamboo-adapted adhesives, hardeners, and other additives at precise ratios into the fiber stream, using a high-shear mixer to ensure the adhesive thoroughly contacts bamboo fibers within a very short time and uniformly coats the surface of every fiber. The glue application rate can be automatically adjusted based on changes in fiber moisture content and flow rate, ensuring a highly consistent glue-to-fiber ratio.
Flash Tube Dryer is used for rapid dehydration of glue-coated wet fibers. This equipment consists of a long straight drying duct, a hot air generator, cyclone separators, and temperature/humidity sensors. Wet fibers are carried forward by high-velocity hot air within the duct, traveling in suspension while moisture evaporates rapidly. The inner surface of the drying duct is polished and treated with anti-sticking measures to prevent bamboo fibers from adhering and accumulating at high temperatures. Cyclone separators separate the dried fibers from the air stream, with outlet moisture content strictly controlled within the process target range.
Air-Flow Former spreads dried bamboo fibers uniformly onto a moving conveyor belt, forming a continuous loose fiber mat. This equipment uses controlled air currents to blow fibers out from the storage bin, distributing them evenly across the width through distribution screens and guide devices, preventing fiber agglomeration or uneven thickness, and providing a structurally uniform fiber layer for subsequent forming.
Continuous Pre-Press performs preliminary compaction of the loose fiber mat after forming and leveling. This equipment consists of upper and lower opposing endless steel or rubber belts and multiple pressure roller sets. As the fiber mat passes through the press zone, it undergoes continuous and stable low-pressure compression, expelling air and bringing fibers into closer contact, producing a continuous mat with certain tensile strength and thickness stability, ready for smooth entry into the hot press.
Continuous Flat-Press Hot Press is the most critical large-scale equipment on the entire line. This machine consists of upper and lower heated platens and two circulating steel belts. The mat is sandwiched between the upper and lower steel belts, continuously moving forward through the high-temperature and high-pressure heating zone. Thermal oil or steam is circulated through the heated platens for heating, while hydraulic systems apply progressively increasing pressure. Under the combined action of heat and pressure, the adhesive within the fibers undergoes cross-linking and curing, tightly bonding fibers together into a unified structure, with dense bamboo MDF raw panels continuously output from the other end of the press. This machine is equipped with bamboo-specific temperature and pressure curve control systems to accommodate bamboo fibers' heat transfer characteristics.
Panel Turnover Cooler receives the high-temperature raw panels emerging from the hot press and gradually cools them to near-ambient temperature. This equipment consists of a long-distance conveyor chain and turnover mechanisms. Panels dissipate heat naturally during conveying, while turnover mechanisms periodically flip the panels to ensure uniform cooling on both sides, effectively eliminating internal thermal stresses and preventing warping or cracking
Crosscut and Edge Trim Saw performs trimming on conditioned raw panels. This equipment combines longitudinal circular saws and transverse circular saws, first removing irregular side edges along the panel travel direction, then cutting off the head and tail ends to obtain standard rectangular panel dimensions, with high cutting precision and smooth cut edges.
Heavy-Duty Wide-Belt Sander performs thickness-calibration sanding on trimmed panels. This machine is equipped with large-diameter sanding rollers and wide abrasive belts. The high-speed rotation of the abrasive belts grinds the panel surfaces, precisely reducing panel thickness to within final product tolerances while achieving a flat and smooth surface. This model uses specialized abrasive belts and powerful drive systems tailored to bamboo's high hardness and high abrasion resistance, ensuring sanding efficiency and service life.
